| Skyreholme is a small hamlet situated near Appletreewick in
the Yorkshire Dales.It can be found in a small valley containing Fir Beck, a
tributary of the River Wharfe. Skyreholme is an old Norse name meaning bright
water-meadow. On one side of the valley is Appletreewick Pasture, on the
other side the scarp face of Simon's Seat. The village of Appletreewick is 15
minutes walk away. Also nearby are Bolton Abbey,
the village of Grassington and the bustling market town of Skipton with its
busy market and shops, and a spectacular mediaeval castle.
